Sri Lanka vs Australia
Sri Lanka defeated Australia by five wickets in the 1st T20 international at Sydney Cricket Ground on
Saturday.Chasing a target of 138, Thisara Perera smashed two consecutive sixes
off Ben Laughlin in the 19th as Sri Lanka romped home with seven balls
to spare and take a 1-0 lead in the two- t20 match series.
Sri Lanka Skipper Angelo Matthews top-scored with 35 not out. Kushal Perera made 33 off 22 balls with two boundaries
and a six while T.M. Dilshan made 16 off 21 balls which included an
extraordinary dilscoop six off Starc.
Australian opener David Warner carried his bat remaining unbeaten on a career-best 90 off
62 balls which contained five boundaries and three sixes.
The 2nd T20 match is at the Melbourne
Cricket Ground on Jan 28, 2013.
