Bat first Sri Lanka set target 225 all out in 48.5 overs with Saeed Ajmal picking up 4-39 and paceman Umar Gul (3-37) sharing the spoils.
Kumar Sangakkara and debutant Ashan Priyanjan revitalised the innings with an 87-run partnership for the fourth wicket before the former captain was run out for 51.
