Sri Lanka becomes the 45th country to own a Communication Satellite…

Sri Lanka’s first communications satellite launched at local time 3:43 p.m. 27th Nov 2012, on board China’s Long March 3B/E Launch Vehicle from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre.

The launch was scheduled earlier for November 22 but was postponed for five days due to bad weather.

Sri Lanka becomes the 45th country to own a Communication Satellite and becomes the third South Asian country to have launched a satellite after India and Pakistan.
