UN observes the progress on the implementation of LLRC
The special United Nations delegation in the Sri Lanka to observe the progress on the implementation of Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission(LLRC) recommendations visited the former Tamil Tiger terrorist stronghold of Kilinochchi,Sri Lanka.
A special delegation comprising the United Nations permanent representatives arrived in the island last Saturday in accordance with an invitation of the Sri Lanka Government.
The UN delegation is expected to present a report on the progress of implementation of the LLRC recommendations to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) before its 20th sessions in Geneva next March.
