“Be Inspired"
The search for Sri Lanka’s most creative young talent and ten outstanding young persons (TOYP) 2013 has begun together with the most reputed, socially responsible organization “CIC Holdings PLC”. As nominations for JCI Sri Lanka’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) awards open, members of JCl Sri Lanka are hoping to prove that Sri Lanka’s young people are amongst the world’s best.“TOYP 2013" is open to all ages of 18 and 40. TOYP was launched by Junior Chamber International Sri Lanka in the year 1980 and during last 3 decades the TOYP awards has recognized the talents and achievements of many outstanding young individuals. Junior Chamber International Sri Lanka still remains as the undisputed leader in recognizing the talents and achievements of the youth in Sri Lanka. With the theme of “Be inspired" this year Junior Chamber international Sri Lanka will be encouraging youth who have the passion and the need to be inspired.
ClC Holdings PLC as an organization who is engaged in a corporate giving program which enrich the communities in which we live and who are investing largely in education in rural areas are proud in being the principal sponsors in the search of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) in Sri Lanka for the year 2013.
Mr. Samantha Ranatunga, Managing Director/CEO of ClC Holdings PLC, commenting on the partnership said, "We are very happy to be the principal sponsor of the TOYP awards for the third consecutive year. At ClC we believe in enhancing and recognizing young people and their achievements and this year's theme of being inspired allows the youth of the country to strive for greater things in life, and be inspired to reach the peak of their life. The nomination process is simple, and anyone can nominate a young outstanding person within the Specific TEN categories.
- Business, Economic and /or entrepreneurial accomplishment.
- Political legal and /or Public Administration.
- Academic leadership and /or accomplishment.
- Contribution to arts, culture, literature and/or media.
- Moral and/or environment leadership.
- Contribution to children, world peace and/or Human rights.
- Humanitarian and /or voluntary service.
- Scientific and /or Technological development.
- Medical innovation/or Research.
- Personal Improvement /or accomplishment.
TOYP is a recognition in identifying the supreme young genuine talents; the journey through this recognition is the first step on the road to becoming the 20l3’s outstanding CITIZENS.
TOYP 2013 is not geared towards one extreme direction, the number of things, including using creativity in product development, service development, entrepreneurship, leadership or even in the way they approach of medical/scientific Innovation. The key is “how they have tackled something in a fresh way, using their talent, imagination and ingenuity to drive their interests".
By recognizing these young people, JCl encourages them and others to seek excellence and serve others. lt’it's just one way that JCl contributes to preparing better leaders, who will create better societies.
