Sri Lanka won the 2014 T20 World Cup after defeating India by 6 wickets in the final  in Mirpur. Legends Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene were playing their last game of the T20s and they finished their T20 career on a high, both playing instrumental roles in Sri Lanka's success.

Wining the toss Sri Lankan captain Lasith Malinga elected to bowl first,India managed only 130-4 in their 20 overs.

The veteran left-hander knocked a 35-ball 52 not out in his last T20 match to guide the Sri Lankan chase of a modest 131-run target in 17.5 overs at Shere Bangla stadium.

Lasith Malinga:

I was really lucky to captain in the last three games. Today, we thought it was Sanga and Mahela's farewell match.. the boys thought we needed to do it for them. Last few overs we bowled really well. Me, Kula and Sachithra. Mahela and Sanga are world-class bowlers and it was a good opportunity for us to be able to play with them. They are still playing Tests and ODIs and the younger players need to pick all that they can from the two
