The Sri Lanka allocated funds to develop seeds and crops for fruits and vegetables in several parts( Matara, Moneragala, Ratnapura)of the country.The Agriculture Ministry allocated Rs. 19 million for the project and it plans to carry out the project in the Matara, Moneragala and Ratnapura Districts.

Out of the monies allocated for the project, Rs 1.22 million has been set aside for the development of banana, pineapple and dry chillies crops in the Matara district, Rs 13.7 million for the development of dry chillies, peanuts, green peas, corn maize, and big onions in the Moneragala district and Rs 4.6 million to develop fruits and vegetables in the Ratnapura district.
