South Korea will be introduced AA new visa category to Sri Lankans to Sri Lankans engaged in the fisheries industry, to continue with their jobs in South Korea,Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) said.

Discussions have been held between the Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare, Dilan Perera, visiting General Manager of the South Korean Fisheries Information and Communication Department, Lee Seung Young, and two other officials representing the South Korean Attorney General’s Department at the Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare. 

“It is compulsory that one passes the Korean Language Proficiency test in order to be eligible for employment opportunities in South Korea and under this, employees related to the fields of industries, agriculture and fisheries are eligible to be recruited,”
