CHOGM 2013 To Commence at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre

The inauguration ceremony of The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2013 will be held at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre from 10.15 am with participation of nearly 25 heads of state and delegations from 53 commonwealth countries.


Foreign dignitaries including Guest of Honour Prince Charlese and Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker Bowles will represent Queen Elizabeth at the CHOGM.
British Prime Minister David Cameron, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key and the leaders of founding countries of the Commonwealth arrived yesterday for the CHOGM 2013.
The theme for CHOGM 2013 is “Growth with Equity; Inclusive Development.”the first time an Asian country is hosting the summit in 24 years.
