| Sri Lankan Summer Bloom 2014 - Leeds |
The Sri Lankan Summer Bloom musical
night took place on 5th of July and was the first of its kind to
occur in Leeds. The event provided the
unique opportunity for families in the Sri Lankan community of North England and
families also travelling all the way from the South to integrate; coming
together to enjoy a wonderful night of quality music.
The great music was
provided by Chandu with the Sunrays Musical Band and some wonderful singing
from artists including Buddhika, Dimuthu, Bobby and Ravindra who were also
accompanied by the superb dancing of the Aksara dancing group. Saman Milroy and
Maheshi Kokila were the charismatic double team that announced the show and
Saman Milroy even peformed his own two songs “Nil Wil There” and “Werala Oba
Nam” for the first time.

All in all, the
different elements of the night culminated to an exciting, enjoyable vibe
leaving many people requesting another show in the future. If this happens, it
is bound to be even bigger and better!!
