Cotton Collection’s international and trendy in-house brand recently unveiled
its latest designer range; Perine for COCO. The line is a creative
collaboration between Cotton Collection’s Managing Director Niloufer Anverally
and Sri Lanka’s most successful international fashion model, Perine Fernando.
Renowned
for being a youthful and carefree range under the Cotton Collection brand, COCO
partners with celebrated fashion designers from Sri Lanka and the fashion
capitals of the world to craft fresh and exciting collections. Perine Fernando
is based in New York, and through this line she brings her unique style and a
wealth of fashion knowledge to Sri Lanka.
COCO embodies the essence of Cotton
Collection which is a fun loving and casual clothing store which blends vibrant
colours with casual design to offer a refreshing and vivacious look for young
women. COCO by Cotton Collection has worked with many renowned designers and
has previously launched lines in collaboration with James Ferreira and KT
Brown. Designed exclusively for Cotton Collection, Perine for COCO is a limited
edition line that features an eclectic mix of pieces and embodies effortless
sophistication.

Perine
for COCO is a collection filled with edgy basics featuring a bevy of deep colours
blended with the prominent use of asymmetrical cuts and stylish draping to
create casual yet chic pieces. This is Perine’s second line for Cotton
Collection and it features bold and classic autumn colours such as grey, navy
blue, black, white, burgundy and khaki. Warm earthy shades combined with
cooling tones reminiscent of a colourful autumn day give this collection its
distinct look and feel. The line is a beautiful collection of basics with a
twist of drape and each piece is carefully crafted to help you make a unique
style statement.
Having
made her mark working for the world’s most iconic fashion houses; Dior, Armani,
Lagerfeld, Yves St. Laurent, Ungaro, Nina Ricci, Scherrer and Pierre Cardin,
Perine Fernando returns to Sri Lanka to launch this new and exciting line in
partnership with Cotton Collection. Perine Fernando’s career catapulted to new
heights when she was discovered by an agency in Switzerland at the age of 16.
She was later scouted by prestigious Italian and French agencies and became the
only Sri Lankan model to make frequent appearances on the Fashion Week catwalks
of Paris, Milan, Tokyo, Madrid, London and Germany. She has worked with
prominent international designers such as Giorgio Armani and Emanuel Ungaro.
Following her 12 year runway career, Perine moved to New York where she worked
for luxury brand Escada until 2006. Now she combines being a successful model
with being a wife and mother, and she has become a prominent role model for
young and aspiring women.
Commenting
on the new line Perine Fernando stated, “This clothing line is a true extension
of my personal style. I am a busy mom,
living and working in Manhattan – one of the busiest cities in the world. I
look for comfort, quality and a good price point. With the collaboration of
Cotton Collection, I have been able to incorporate all of these into the line.
The pieces in the collection are great to wear regardless of whether you want
to dress up or dress down, dress for the day or evening and as always, they can
be enhanced with the right accessories and great shoes. Most of the pieces can be mixed and layered
with denim, pencil skirts or long stretch skirts for a cool urban chic look
that embodies understated elegance. The essence of my style can be summed up as
effortless sophistication and this is apparent throughout this collection. This
line was also brought to life by the creative direction of Niloufer Anverally,
whose guidance and influence really added flair to the entire collection.”

her contribution to the line, Niloufer Anverally stated, “It has been a really

for COCO was launched at an exclusive Cotton Collection which was hosted at
Ginger in the presence of the fashion industry’s most prominent movers and
shakers. Cotton Collection offers a truly magnificent and complete shopping

clothing, shoes, bags and accessories in vibrant colours and elegant designs.
