Sri Lanka beats England in one-day cricket series
Sri Lanka beat England by 6 wickets to win the final match of the five-match series at Birmingham to win the series 3-2.
Batting first England scored a total of 219 runs at the end of the 48th over with no wickets to spare. Left-handed opener Alistair Cook and Ian bell partnered and put up a score of 76 for the first wicket.
Lasith Malinga took three wickets and Ajantha Mendis took two wickets.
In reply Sri Lanka steadily scored with Mahela Jayawardena posting 53 and Lahiru Thirimanne scoring 60 runs while Angelo Mathews supported the tail end with 42.

Man of the Match is vice-captain Lahiru Thirimanne for his excellent half-century and Lasith Malinga is the Man of the series.

Sri Lanka also clinched the one-match T20 series against England.
